My wife and I have been married for more than 20 years (there, that won't need to be updated every year). We have been living in the Atlanta area most of our lives (MM is an actual born and raised NATIVE of Decatur!).
Mary Martha and I have two wonderful children: Alex and Jessica.
Jessica is attending the College of Wooster in Wooster, OH (well, that's going to need updating pretty regularly as she studies abroad and then graduates). She is currently studying International Relations and German.
Alex has graduated from Ben Franklin High School. He is currently working at the Columbia Seminary Library and doing some theatrical work. Drama is his primary interest these days. He is working on deciding what direction his life will take in the future.
We have one dog, Jenny, and two cats, Susie and Dicken.
That's the immediate family.
We are members of Church of the New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Doraville. This is a Presbyterian Church (USA) congregation.
Update
I no longer work for Syntellect Corporation in their Roswell office. Their primary office is in Phoenix, AZ. They were bought by EngHouse and in the subsequent evaluation of expenses and concurrent downturn in revenue I was laid off.
Mary Martha works at Columbia Theological Seminary. She is the Circulation Librarian at the John Bulow Campbell Library on campus.
We are blessed to have all four of our parents living within a short drive of us here in the Atlanta area. That has been a powerful motivator keeping us in Atlanta, especially since the kids were born. Both sets of parents have become great-grandparents, but we are not yet grandparents ourselves.
MM&I both have brothers who also live in the greater Atlanta area with their families. I have two sisters, one living in Corvalis, OR and the other living in Memphis, TN, both married. We also have nine nieces and nephews (that's a total of nine, not nine of each) scattered among our various siblings.

I came across your blog by doing a search on Atlanta blogs. My husband and I are considering moving down there from the suburbs of Washington, DC and we are trying to get as much input as possible.
He works from home for a San-Fran based company (macromedia), so we don't have a job pulling us to any particular location, unless of course we wanted to move to San Fran, which, since we are tryng to LOWER our cost of living is pretty much out of the question.
Neither of us have been to Atlanta, though I am coming there for a few days next week to check it out. But we've heard great things about it (except the traffic). Since the cost of living is so low there (compared with here), the area really appeals to us.
I noticed you work in Roswell, which is, so far, where we have focused most of our attention. We don't want to count on my husband's position for the long term (though it may work out that way), so we need to be in area that is accesible to high-tech companies, and Roswell seemed like a good bet. I've also heard the schools there are good (we have a 1 and 1/2 year old daughter).
Anyway, I would love to have some input from a native.

Well, I've only lived here a little over 35 years (unlike my wife who was born and raised in Decatur just east of Atlanta), so I don't think I count as a native, but I guess I'm a resident.
There are a number of high-tech companies on the north side of town in and around Roswell. The northwest and northeast sides of town also has a number of high-tech companies.
I personally would prefer being closer in to Atlanta rather than so far north. For one thing, you are clear on the other side of town from Hartsfield International Airport. For another, if you wind up getting a job that is closer in to town then you'll be going with the flow of traffic, whereas if you move closer in then you'll either be closer to an in-town office or going against the flow for an office further out. Of course, housing prices get higher the closer in you go, so that might be another consideration.
I'm less familiar with the schools in the Roswell area since I live more on the east side in Dekalb county. However, it is generally the case that more affluent areas have better schools, and judging by the number of luxury car dealerships in the area I would guess that Roswell residents are generally better off financially than many.
Personally, I'm getting close to deciding that Atlanta is getting too big: too much traffic, too hot, too far to drive. However, having the world's largest free local calling area is often quite nice.
