Snow in Atlanta

Unbelievably, we had actual snow in Atlanta. Of course it has been too warm lately for it to bury the city completely. Instead we have slush everywhere. Still, looking out the window I see white on the ground and on my car. This is something I had not seen for several years now. I remember it snowing (and shutting down school and the rest of the city) once or twice most every year here in Atlanta when I was a kid. That just doesn't happen very often any more. Nice to see that it is not impossible. Now if it could just get coordinated with some cold weather so that it could actually exist for a day or two (but no more, let's be reasonable here) that would provide a nice break.

Garbage

First of all, I had to add a new category to apply to this post. This isn't about religion, humor, church, programming, community, Christmas, or Politics, so I needed something else. Not wanting to take a chance on misspelling it, I'll just leave it abbreviated.

What this is about is garbage. Or, more accurately, garbage disposal. Not just disposal of garbage, but the garbage disposal under my kitchen sink. Mine is broken. Or, more precisely, it was broken. Now it has been replaced with a new Insinkerator. That's what I started to write about. Except that I didn't have a category, which got me distracted. So I started rambling. Now I can't stop.

I should remember to take pictures when I'm tackling a project around the house. I've seen lots of cool picture histories of people's projects, but I always forget until I'm enjoying the finished whatever. By then it is too late to take a "before" picture. Without the "before" picture, an "after" picture doesn't make much sense. After all, this is just a garbage disposal. The old one was corroded and gross, but I can't take a picture of it now to show you. The new one is just like most any other under a sink, not something that needs a well framed, carefully crafted picture so that folks can understand what I'm talking about. So no pictures. Sorry about that.

Still, I'm happy to have a new, quiet, working garbage disposal. I'm happy not to be sitting on the floor and working under the sink. I'm happy to be clean again. And now you'll be happy that I've stopped.
